At Allen Dermatology, we offer a range of cosmetic skin treatments to help you look and feel better, and are proud to offer one of the newest advanced procedures in fat-reduction: CoolSculpting.

What Is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a FDA-cleared, non-invasive fat reduction treatment procedure that uses cooling technology to target and eliminate select fat cells. Over 2 million CoolSculpting treatments are already been performed worldwide, with a 95% rate of providing proven, visible results.

Is CoolSculpting Safe?

The CoolSculpting treatment is designed with patient safety in mind, using technology that can achieve fat-reduction with no invasive surgery or anesthesia, no recovery time, and technology with built in fail-safes. Also, only specialists who have undergone extensive training & certification are licensed to offer the CoolSculpting treatment, including Allen Dermatology.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

The CoolSculpting treatment is based around the process of “cryolipolysis” or “fat-freezing”. Essentially, the procedure delivers controlled cooling to target fat cells underneath the skin, freezing and killing these specific cells. Once those cells are eliminated, your body naturally processes the fat and fewer fat cells remain, leaving a better looking you. Since those fat cells are gone completely, the results of CoolSculpting are long-lasting.

Losing Weight Vs. Losing Fat

Understanding the different between losing weight and losing actual fat, highlights the results that CoolSculpting provides. When you lose weight, by doing things like working out or dieting, you are making the fat cells in your body smaller. The total number of fat cells do not increase or decrease as you gain or lose weight.

By freezing and reducing the total number of fat cells in your body, the weight that is lost is from the procedure stays off. However, the fat cells that remain can still grow and shrink as normal depending on your diet and exercise.

What To Expect For Your Appointment

When you come in for your first appointment and CoolSculpting consultation, you’ll meet with Drs. Allen or Hall one-on-one to discuss treatment, answer your questions about the procedure, and analyze your body in order to create a personalized treatment plan for you. Depending on your needs and desired body image, the number of areas that need to be treated will vary.

When you begin treatment, you will not need to prepare for surgery, and there will be no anesthesia needed. A gel pad and applicator will be placed on the area that is being targeted to eliminate fat cells, and you can just sit back and relax until the treatment is completed.
